Design Protection
Period:
7 Years
Annuity Payments: Annuities
are to be paid every
year
Procedure
Once the Design
application is
filed, it is queued
to be examined by
Iraqi Patent Office
with respect to
compliance with the
provisions of the
Design Law.. Upon
acceptance, the
application will be
published in the
Official Gazette. In
absence of any
opposition, the
Certificate of
Registration is
issued.
REQUIREMENTS
Filing Requirements
for Design
Application:
1- Eight copies of
short description of
the design.
2- Eight copies of
the drawings or
reproductions of the
design
3- Two miniature
models of the design
4- Power of
Attorney, duly
legalized up to the
Consulate of Iraq.
Legalization stamp
should be overleaf
the Power of
Attorney sheet
itself. The Power of
Attorney should
include Israel
Boycott Declaration
(form available on
request).
Requirements for
Assignment
Applications
1- Power of
Attorney, duly
legalized up to the
Consulate of Iraq.
Legalization stamp
should be overleaf
the Power of
Attorney sheet
itself. The Power of
Attorney should
include Israel
Boycott Declaration
(form available on
request).
2- Deed of
Assignment, signed
by both parties,
notarized and
legalized up to the
Consulate of Iraq.
Requirements
for Change of
Name/Address:
1- Power of
Attorney, duly
legalized up to the
Consulate of Iraq.
Legalization stamp
should be overleaf
the Power of
Attorney sheet
itself. The Power of
Attorney should
include Israel
Boycott Declaration

2- Certificate
proving the change
of name/address
issued, duly
legalized up to the
Consulate of the
Iraq.
