Procedure:
Once the Design
application is
filed, it is queued
to be examined with
respect to
compliance with the
Patent Office
requirements. Upon
acceptance, the
application will be
published in the
Official Gazette.
There is 3 months
period for any
interested party's
opposition. In
absence of any
opposition, the
certificate of
registration is
issued.
REQUIREMENTS
Filing Requirements
for Design
Application:
1- Power of
Attorney, duly
legalized up to the
Consulate of Jordan
2- A
certified copy of
the certificate of
registration of the
company or articles
of association for a
corporate person.
3- Deed
of assignment
confirming the right
of the applicant in
the design/ model,
if the applicant is
not the inventor.
4- A Declaration of
Novelty, specifying
the novel aspects of
the design.
5- The article(s)
covered by the
design and the
material used in
producing these
items.
6- The class(es) in
which the design is
to be registered.
7- Three sets of
specimens or
representations of
the design.
8- A certified copy
of the priority
document, indicating
the filing date,
number and country,
if priority is to be
claimed
9- An independent
abstract, for the
purpose of
publication in the
Official Gazette,
describing the
novelty of the
industrial model or
design, not
exceeding two
hundred words;
provided that such
abstract includes:
- The
inventor's name, the
applicant’s name
- if the
applicant is not the
inventor
- and the addresses
thereof; 
- A copy of the best of the illustrative figures pertaining to
the industrial model
or design;
- The data hereinabove mentioned, in Points 2 & 3
* The documents hereinabove mentioned, in Points ( 5), (6), ( 7)
and ( 9), shall be
attached to the
application for
registration. The
other documents may,
if not attached to
such application, be
submitted within a
certain grace-period
upon filing the
application.
Requirements for
Assignment
Applications
1- Power of Attorney
by the Assignee,
duly legalized up to
the Consulate of
Jordan
2- Deed of
Assignment, signed
by both parties,
notarized and
legalized up to the
Consulate of Jordan
3- Name, address,
nationality and
profession or nature
of business of the
Assignee
Requirements for
Change of
Name/Address:
1- Power of Attorney
in the new
name/address, duly
legalized up to the
Consulate of Jordan
2- Certificate
proving the change
of name/address
issued, duly
legalized up to the
Consulate of Jordan
Requirements for
License/Registered
User Agreements:
1- Power of attorney
executed by the
licensee, duly
legalized up the
Consulate Jordan
2- License Agreement
executed by both
parties, duly
legalized up to the
Consulate of Jordan.
3- Design
registration number.
