Procedure: Once the patent application is filed, it is queued to be examined by the Iranian Patent Office with respect to compliance with formalities only. Accepted applications will become granted patents. Upon grant, the patent is published in the Official Gazette. Any interested party may file an opposition against the patent within thirty days as of publication before the First Instance Public Court.

1- Power of Attorney, duly legalized up to the Consulate of Iran.
2- Three copies of the specification, claims and abstract (in French or English).
3- Four sets of the formal drawings, (if any).
4- Certified copy priority document along with its translation into English, if priority rights are to be claimed.

1- Power of Attorney by the Assignee, legalized up to the Consulate of Iran.
2- Deed of Assignment, notarized and legalized up to the Consulate of Iran.
3- The original Letters Patent for endorsement.
Requirements for Change of Name/Address:
1- Power of Attorney in the new name/address, legalized up to the Consulate of Iran.
2- Certificate proving the change of name/address, duly legalized up to the Consulate of Iran.

Requirements for License Agreement:
1- License Agreement signed by both parties, notarized and legalized by the consulate of Iran.
2- Power of attorney from the Licenser and Licensee, notarized and legalized up to the Consulate of Iran.
