From Filing to Registration: 8-10 Months

Classification of Goods/Service: International (8th edition)
Registration Validity: 10 years, renewable for other consecutive periods, each of which is 10 years.
Renewal Time: Application for Renewal should be submitted six months prior to expiry date. Late renewal can also be submitted within six months as of the termination of the protection period.
Trade/Service mark Use: Not pre-requisite for registration. However, a trademark is vulnerable for cancellation by any interested party, who may prove that the trademark was not actually used during the three years preceding the application for cancellation.
Multiple Class Applications: One application could be filed for one trademark in several classes. However, official fees are paid per mark per class.
Procedure: Once the application is filed, it is queued to be examined as to trademark registrability. Accepted applications by the Registrar are published in the Official Gazette. There is 30 days period for filing an opposition by any interested party. In the absence of an opposition, the published trademark is registered, and the certificate of registration is issued.
Requirements:
Trademark/Service Mark Applications
1- The full name and address of the applicant.
2- List of goods and/or services and related classes.
3- A sample of the mark. For three-dimensional marks the applicant must provide sufficient dimensions of the mark to be clearly represented.
4- Power of Attorney, duly notarized and legalized by the Consulate of Iran.
5- Certified copy of priority document, if priority is to be claimed.
* Items in articles 4 & 5 can be submitted upon filing the application.
Renewal of Trademark/Service Mark Registrations
1- Power of attorney, duly legalized up to the Consulate of Iran.
2- Photo copy of the certificate or registration.

Assignment Applications
1- Power of Attorney signed, by the assignee and legalized up to the Consulate of Iran.
2- Deed of Assignment, signed by both parties and legalized up to the Consulate of Iran..
3- The Original Iranian Certificate of Trademark registration or renewal for endorsement.
Change of Name/Address Applications
1- Power of attorney in the new name/address, duly legalized up to the Consulate of Iran.
2- Certified and legalized copy of change of name/address document, duly legalized up to the Consulate of Iran.
3- The Original Iranian registration or renewal certificate for recordal of change of address.
License Applications
1- License Agreement signed by both parties, notarized and then legalized up to the Consulate of Iran.
2- Power of attorney from the Licenser and Licensee, notarized and then legalized up to the Consulate of Iran.
3- The original Iranian registration or renewal certificate for endorsement.
